Tutsis? What Tutsis??

More than a month has gone by and we have been stuck in this bathroom. At least we are safe. I heard on the radio one day that the Hutus are trying to wipe out all Tutsis. The government is burning death and birth certificates and all documents that even mention Tutsis. The whole Hutu population is trying to make it look like there was never a Tutsi on Earth . The president spoke and told all the Hutus to keep up the good work. He said that almost all of the Tutsis in Rwanda were killed. He said if anyone sees a Tutsi, kill them no matter what. The man said that the “snakes” should be chopped up and killed. The haunting thing was that there were hundreds of thousands of Tutsis in my village that I knew of. God only knows how many Tutsis there were in the country.
