My name is Immaculee Ilibagiza. I am the only girl of four kids in my family. I am a Tutsi. Our rivals and neighbors are Hutus. I never realized that in 1994 my life would be in danger. In fourth grade my teacher took roll as usual. But instead of asking our names he asked if we were a Tutsi or Hutu. I did not know what tribe I belonged to. When I got home from school that day, I asked my dad what I was. He told me we were Tutsi's. I told him that my best friend was a Hutu and at that my father looked worried. I put it off as if it were nothing. Oh how I was so wrong.
